Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness (LRIF)

Law Office of Kelli Y. Allen, PLLC

In December 2019, Congress passed legislation that will allow certain Liberian nationals to apply for permanent residency in the United States. Applicants who properly file will be eligible for temporary employment authorization and protected from deportation while the application is pending. Successful applicants will receive permanent residency.

Eligibility

  • Must be a national of Liberia
  • Have been continuously present in the U.S. since November 20, 2014
  • Not have been convicted of any aggravated felony or two or more crimes involving moral turpitude

Spouses and children are also allowed to apply as dependents and do not have to meet the physical presence requirements. Additionally, individuals who meet eligibility requirements may apply even if they are currently in removal proceedings or have a final order of removal.

Extensive documentation is required and applications must be received by USCIS no later than December 20, 2020. Contact the Law Office of Kelli Y. Allen for immediate assistance if you believe you may qualify for the Liberian Refugee Immigration Fairness program.
